Another day a bit like the previous, Kip’s temperature continues and the symptoms we have been worried about show remarkable persistence. The good news, on review with the medics and lead nurse, is that the blood cultures came back negative (no bacteria growing in the most recent samples) and so it’s entirely possible that things are progressing as planned.
High temperatures happen in transplants, and they can happen after tranfusion of platelets which he had last night. In their words, they aren’t worried. In our words, apart from being very ill, he’s totally fine.
Today he drank a carton of apple juice and ate a whole chip, which is good progress. The rest of his food for the day is the charming concoction in the photo. I’m guessing it’s the exact opposite of a decent latte…
